Oh, Childhood

Today, my childhood cat died. Elvis was about 17 years old, and I knew he was ready to go - but my sadness was somewhat... more than I'd planned. He always reminded me of the cat Sampson from the Church Mice books by Graham Oakley. Come to think of it, there are some great cats in art. This lets you know that I'm a cat lady (Vivienne du Pont currently resides with me).

In my search for great cats in art, I came across this blog post on the subject. Unfortunately, the very "type" I was searching for was the infamous Hogarth cat, and his image of one is gone. So, this is my fave H-cat.
