ye olde eggs
A friend taught me how to make Hungarian Easter eggs! I think some of the designs we used were Ukrainian too, and some we made up. A special "pen" is used to apply melted wax, and then you plunk your egg in the dye. You can do this lots of times to make fancy multi-colored designs, but I kept it simple because applying the wax was a little tricky. Sometimes a giant blob ruins your perfect design. But I imagine if you just take a shot of Hungarian moonshine, you're good to go.
